Gather Journal is a recipe-driven food magazine dedicated to the many aspects of gathering: to dine, to drink, to harvest, and to cook.
The Winter 2016 “Origin” edition of Gather Journal is devoted to natural history, a theme inspired in great part by one of our favorite New York museums to visit. Chapters are arranged by a few of the areas of study that natural history encompasses—geology, space, fossils, the ocean, biodiversity, and the ages—each one spawning its own full menu. There is even a feature inspired by the museum’s famous Hall of Minerals, though our glimmering crystal blocks are cast from a very different—and sweeter—material.
